Within the space of three days , a route in California has reverse from a fairly received dusty highway to looking like something out of a Mario Kart TV game .
The Vasquez Canyon Road in Santa Clarita was forced to shut after it buckled into a wavy and warped mussiness over the three day surveil November 19th . The route is still closed andauthorities have warnedthat the surface area is insecure .
CBS Los Angelesreported that the road buckle over a 60 - meter ( 200 - infantry ) stretchability , some part rising as high as 4.5 meter ( 15 foot ) .
“ Cracks are active and continue to expand , ” Steven Frasher of the Los Angeles County Department of Public work toldCBS Los Angeles . “ Hour by hr , the side by side hillside proceed to slip subvert the pavement , actually do underneath the pavement and uplifting it . ”

Most peculiar of all , there seems no clear explanation as to what caused it .
Professor Jeremy Boyce , who demand a group of his geology student from UCLA to see the route , appeared to be pretty stumped by the geologic phenomenon .
" There was no vainglorious rainstorm that triggered this . There was no swelled earthquake that triggered this , " he said toCBS Los Angeles .
" When we think about geology , we consider about processes that go on over million and one million million of year , so the chance to wreak students out and see something happening over a scale of 60 minutes gives them the thought that not only does geology take perpetually , it can also pass off almost instantaneously . "
Vincent Devlahovich , a geology professor from the College of the Canyons , has said he believes it was because of the hem in rocks becoming saturated with rain . Although this seems like the most plausible account , there still does n’t appear to be any concrete response ( no pun intended ) .
