Colorado Rep.Lauren Boebertis switching Congressional districts in the 2024 race, announcing on Wednesday she will run in the state’s 4th Congressional District.
The switch comes as Republicans look to keep their narrow House majority in 2024 and as 37-year-old Boebert was expected to face a tough reelection bid for her current district, Colorado’s 3rd. The 4th district is more solidly Republican.
In anannouncement videoshared to social media , the Republican said of the change, “It’s the right move for me personally, and it’s the right decision for those who support our conservative movement. Colorado’s 4th District is hungry for an unapologetic defender of freedom with a proven track record of standing strong for conservative principles.”
The move comes a little over a year after Boebert narrowly won a second term in office, after her Democratic challenger put up an unexpectedly tough fight to unseat the controversial Republican after just one term.
