John Mayeris remembering his close friendBob Sagetwith love.
OnInstagramMonday, the 44-year-old singer-songwriter honored the late actor with an emotional tribute following Saget’ssudden death at age 65.
“I love you, Bob. I will never forget you. I will visit you often in my memories, and I hope I get to see you in my dreams,” Mayer wrote alongside a blank, white square.
“I will tell my kids about you. I’m taking you with me forever,” he continued. “I love you, Bob.”
Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo responded, “No words for how much he loved you. Thank you dear friend.”

“His love for those around him was always accounted for. He was deep and wide and vast, and he would also probably make a joke about me saying ‘deep and wide,'” Mayer continued. “The man had range. I’ve met many people in my life, but when Bob crossed my path, I just held onto him, and I wasn’t letting go. I just knew he was the realest thing. I would like you to know that the man you hope was as awesome as you think was way beyond what you can ever imagine. He was impossibly kind. And generous. And loving. And I have more to say so please let me do like one more of these, okay? It’s just the way it’s gonna be.”
In a May 2020 episode of hispodcastBob Saget’s Here For You,theFull Housealum celebrated Mayer (the episode’s guest) as one of his “dearest friends on this Earth.” The stars had been friends for years, from grabbing dinner in Los Angeles together to teaming up for charity events. Saget traveled to Brazil with the musician forMayer’s 40th birthday bashin 2017, while Mayersang at Saget’s 2018 wedding.

Last May, they each performed at Dave Chappelle’s Summer Camp event in Chappelle’s Ohio hometown. “I love a rainy night. Especially onstage with brilliant friends,” Mayer captioned the photo. Saget shared his own set of photos, writing, “A few more special pics from Friday night, Day#3at#DaveChappelleSummerCamp- Hangin’ with the best, most fun friends a man can be blessed with:@johnmayer@therealjeffreyrossand@davechappelle- Dave made all this joy happen. Didn’t want it to end.”
For Mayer’s birthday in 2020, Sagetshared a photo of the two with his wife Kellyfrom the Brazilian trip, captioning it, “Wishing my brother from another mother, John, the happiest and healthiest of birthdays possible on this earth. John’s heart is as big as his talent – – My wife Kelly and I love him so much. Whatever you love about his brilliant music you would love even more as what a beautiful human being he is. I’ll text him the other sweet stuff – – Just wanted you guys to know – – My life is so much better because my dear friend was born —And he gets to share his gifts with the world.

On Sunday afternoon, Saget wasfound dead in his hotel roomat the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando following a performance in Jacksonville, Florida, Saturday night.
The Philadelphia-born actor wasmost famousfor his role as Danny Tanner on the sitcomFull Housein the ’80s and ’90s. His other notable credits included the rebootFuller House,How I Met Your Mother, andAmerica’s Funniest Home Videos, as well as his many years doing stand-up.

His family confirmed the heartbreaking news in astatementSunday.
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter,” reads the statement. “Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
Saget leaves behind wife Kelly Rizzo and his three daughters — Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer — whom he shares with first wife Sherri Kramer.
