AsEntertainment Weeklyreported today , the series will be publish by Christopher Hastings , with artistic creation from Gurihiru ( the psuedonym for artists Chifuyu Sasaki and Naoko Kawano ) . Unlike her original incepction , this is n’t an alternate Gwen Stacy — Unbelievable Gwenpool will follow the appopriately - named Gwen Poole , a newfangled reference , as she takes up the mantle of Deadpool … in a way . The world this Gwen is from is one where the Marvel universe is n’t home to real superheroes , but is a fictitious line of comedian , just like it is in our own .
of course , hijinks ensue when she hits the “ real ” Marvel Universe , where Gwen finds herself call back she ’s living in a make - consider world and goes wild .
It ’s a moderately interesting take on a graphic symbol who started life as a sappy variant cover idea , and it ’s mad how outstanding Gwen is in the comics after all these years . We really are just a few step closer from a Marvel Gwenimatic Universe , where every hero is just some variant of Gwen Stacy , are n’t we ?
