Her female parent eventually became a local apothecary and Katniss an astonishing hunter and gatherer . Together ( well , mostly thanks to Katniss ’ archery accomplishment ) Prim ( her younger babe ) and her female parent manage to feed themselves ( a gravid accomplishment for someone from District 12 ) .
Oh , and if you ’re wonder where all the other Districts are in the nation of Panem , here ’s a trustworthy function fromKaydicakes . As you may see , a slew of North America is now currently underwater , or cover in wild .

Will the movie version allow this repulsion to take place on screen ? Sure this is just a forerunner to the real stemma fest that is the Hunger Games themselves , but it ’s still important . Are they still going to issue the glossa out of the mouths of Capitol criminals ?

First look at District 12 ’s Reaping ! Where all the eligible teenager gather to see if their name are called to be summon to the Hunger Games . One male and one female is picked from each district and becomes “ tributes . ” They are then shipped off the The Capitol to fight the 22 other tributes from the 11 other Districts , to the death . The whole matter is televised , include draw Day .
Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket done up in the Capitol manner . She is the prescribed Escort to the tributes , and is n’t peculiarly happy with her District 12 placing . However , she believes that if her Tributes do a beneficial Book of Job she will finally get upgrade to a better berth .

The tribute are then ushered into this improbable skyscraper in The Capitol to get their hair and make-up done and meet their stylists . Yes , everyone in the Capitol dresses like Effie . It ’s all very“Merry Old Land of Oz,”only with more cry and death .
Meet Katniss ’ stylist Cinna . Yes , that is Lenny Kravitz . And yes , he is wearing Cinna ’s key signature atomic number 79 - eyeliner .
Now there ’s tons and stacks of press for each protection to do , they have to hype themselves to the masses of Panem , in hopes of getting donations and goods during the games ( which are all wildly expensive ) . In parliamentary procedure to do this , they appear on Caesar Flickerman ’s show to be interviewed and stared at by the res publica . IMDB tell that Caesar is being played by Stanley Tucci — but holy bean this does NOT look like our military personnel Tucci . The laugh in the laggard certainly sounds like him , but wow . It could be him , we guess , we ’ve never seen Tucci in a blue pony - tail . Side banknote , right before this image was show up Katniss was seen spinning around in this red clothes in the dawdler , which is one of the ways she made everyone fall in love with her . Well , that and lamb stew !

The games are about to take up and Katniss gets inside her entrance electron tube and stands on her collection plate ( careful not to rush along to the profuseness , or else the mines hem in her feet will explode — sport ! )
Katniss gives the three fingered salute of District 12 ( the folks there do not acclaim ) but instead conjure up their hands mutely like so ( it mean thank you , sexual love , or goodbye to a special someone ) . A group of folk watching the Hunger Games from afar give the salute back to Katniss . Oh good , I call back I know what this scene is .
And finally the beginning of the game , which is too blurry to grab , but you’re able to see the circle of all the other protection standing on their plates in a round . look to run to the cornucopia . Then the trailer give up . It shows nothing from the Games proper , which is a really good thing . All we ’re give with is the call of the mockingjay , which we think is the tune Rue teaches all the bird in the Games to sing .
