In the latest episode of Killjoys , One Blood , Dutch gets caught between two mentors , testing her commitment and place those around her in danger .
party pooper had been pretty in effect about drop a lot of selective information about the Quad throughout its tally so far , and now , we ’re start to get some answers , or at least a little more background on the character ’s past : we ’re not in a situation where the information is coming out agonizingly slow , like in LOST or interchangeable show . We ’ve had it established that Dutch coach as a variety of assassinator , and we ’ve see her former mentor return to rag her a bit over the course of this season .
One stemma picks up flop after the last episode , and Khlyen desire to use her for something . Dutch is adamantine : she ’ll help him out once more , but she wo n’t shoot down for him and she want answers once she helps him out . He asks her to call up something from a man in the restaurant , decently before he gasconade the way with a poison .
return to Lucy , she learns that a new stock-purchase warrant has been issued : a competitive Black Warrant ( someone needs to go through and estimate out a comprehensive listing of the warrant emerge so far ) , which puts together a whole bunch of RAC teams to go after the same target : best team wins .
In the meantime , D’avin has the hots for Dutch , and tries to break up with Dr. Simms : he call for a break , he tells her . She tells him that she can help oneself him track down the mysterious doctor from his yesteryear , if he ’ll give her another shot .
Their quarry is Big Joe , Joseph Cyano , a former Killjoy who serve as a mentor for most of the teams there . He stole a party ship , and they want to calculate out what was on the ship that he stole . Midway through the briefing , Dutch gets a call from Khlyen , who also wants what Joe stole . He implants her with a neuronal tie , and shows her where the ship terminate up . He tells her to go after it , and to bring the twist that Joe stole back .
Dutch arrive on Leith and locates the ship , but not the equipment . Khlyen come out and lets her know that the Company is freak out out about the lacking gadget . Locating the ship , she find an empty case that stored the twist . Before she ’s too far , she gets fritter in the berm . Back on Westerly , Dr. Simms drugs a ship’s company official and steals his handheld to track down any data on D’avin ’s Dr. . How she gets the information is pretty funny , and the show is expectant about this short , humourous parts .
She set off on her own after Joe , leaving John and D’avin to go after their warrant themselves . They work with Fancy Lee ( who tried to kill D’avin in the pilot ) , and head off to Leith to ascertain Joe . They ’re reluctant to work with him , but he ’s got a special tool that ’ll help them out .
Dutch patches up her weapon , and sets off after her aggressor , and comes up against Joe – it ’s a joyful reunion : Joe was a mentor to her , and they ’re glad to see one another . She state him that she ’s not here for him , just what he slip . He assure her that she call for to get out of there , for her own trade good . RAC use people up , he tells her , and what he ’s arrest is earnestly dangerous . While they writhe , she pulls out the gimmick she lifted off of him . As she does so , they ’re confronted by an armed mathematical group , True Liethians .
The mathematical group believes that the Company and the RAC are gunning for them to take their land and pass on it over to Westerlyns . The Kotler family are a heavy armed group of root . They rip the neural link from Dutch , and they get quick to question her and Joe .
Fancy Lee ’s Bloodhound track down Dutch to the chemical compound , where they encounter a number of hard armed family members . D’avin goes into the way . Lee and John bicker , and Lee separate John that he might be a known asshole to everyone , but that that ’s something that the group demand . They take out the precaution and watch as more guard converge on the compound . They switch over to lethal firepower and start dash .
The family members recover the gimmick and pick up the shot . They get ready to use it on their prisoner , and when they fructify it off , there ’s a fanfare of blinding white light . When everyone looks up , the intact menage has been reduced to ash . The machine is a arm , one that appear to target a specific set of genetic science – in this instance , the syndicate .
The team return home with Joe to collect the warrant . The Company prescribed fit in asking what happened , and they show off the machine that they recovered , asking him why the Company has such a machine . He pulls away Turin and they chat – the Company wants to pull him into hands , and Turin is n’t uncoerced to hand him over . Turin comes out and the Killjoys get an alert on their phones and Joe receive a warrant upgrade : a degree 5 kill . He begs Dutch to kill him , but when she turn away , Lee take the shot , reminding them that “ The endorsement is all . ”
close out , Khlyen confronts Dutch , and asks where the machine is . He slams her into a wall , and she prod him , although it does n’t seem to affect him . He secern her that he is n’t a monster : everything he does serves a purpose . He tells her that the came to the quad for her . On the other side of township , the Company prescribed confronts Simms , asking her who the medico is , and arrests her . John and D’avin confront Dutch and take her what ’s going on : she tell them about Khlyen and how the weapon pock him . She asks John to help her track him down , and when they find him , they ’re snuff it to kill him .
This was a Dutch episode , and I ’m a picayune mistrustful of this : she ’s an excellent character reference , to be sure , but the exceptional - assassin - ninja - person - with - a - past tense - coming - back - to - haunt - them has been done before , and we have n’t get wind anything abominably new here . On top of that , it seems like she ’s had a LOT packed into her life sentence : two very distinguishable mentor public figure in her life with two very dissimilar skill - sets . I ’d care to see them dig into that a little more , but I ’m guessing we wo n’t see much more from Joe .
At the end of the solar day , this was a bit of a low - cay installment , but one where a lot of stuff happened . It was n’t quite as memorable as some of the earlier episode , but it does palpate like thing are commence to come to a head . Once we hit the last of the season and can seem back , it ’ll be interesting to see how well the larger story are pace as a whole . My feeling is that we ’re building to something large , and it ’ll be interesting to see how all of these random pieces fit together .
