When it wasannounced at Star Wars Celebrationearlier this month , Dave Filoni ’s “ New Republic vs. Imperial Remnant ” picture show was teased as a climax of plot thread woven throughout the “ creation ” ofThe Mandalorianand its affiliated TV series . But it seems like the theater director andproducing partner Jonathan Favreauwant to reach far , far beyond just those shows for characters to dally with .

“ When I was younger , we did n’t have pic , but there were comical volume , there were novel , things that are encompassed in the [ extend universe ] or Legends , ” Favreau concluded . “ intelligibly , there are decisions that have to be made to fit it all together , but for us , I think one affair we ’re in correspondence about is that the persona — as special as they are — the story has to drive what characters are .
