It ’s getting close , now . On September 24th , the first new Star Trek series in years will debut . Star Trek Discovery is say to take place in the Prime timeline , limit it in the same persistence as everything else in the Trek - verse keep start the Abrams movies . Which means it ’s a unspoilt time for a story lesson .
Our lesson for today comes fromThe Templin Institute , a new YouTube channel dedicated to discuss “ nations , organizations and faction from alternate worlds , ” accord to the line description . In just a few hour , their new video runs down the Trek timeline at around the time Discovery is put , roughly ten years prior to the events of the original series . The TV gives a handy survey of the astronomic politics and the position of the major alien races to help get us back into the Trek mentality .
Now , to be fair , it ’s not clear how much Discovery will stick by to the established canyon . Executive Producer Akiva Goldsmanhas saidthat the series will have “ its own standalone story with its own case and its own unique vision of Trek , ” which could indicate that the established canon is not the highest precedency .
At any charge per unit , it ’s interesting to see where other Jehovah have taken the universe in this fourth dimension period of time and to then go on to see how Discovery differ . I ’m count frontwards to finding out more about the seemingly raw take on the Klingons here .
