NASAis considering re - purposing its successful Cassini - Huygens probe to do something that it was n’t design for , but is still amazing : searching for mansion of life on Saturn frozen moon Enceladus . Back in July 2005 Cassini observed a vast plume of ice atom and water vapor blast from the tiny moonshine , suggesting the possibility that there ’s a liquid sea hiding beneath its surface . Now scientists are calling for the investigation to be institutionalise sailing through the plumage and over the Sun Myung Moon in detail to look for complex carbon copy atom that may indicate the front of life in the ocean using its Ion and Neutral Mass Spectrometer . The argument scat that abundant life living in the sea should produce molecules like methane which could then be detected : scientist have already build up a trial bedroom at NASA ’s Ames Research Center to seek to simulate the conditions on Enceladus and calculate what variety of petrol may be anticipate .
