Back in June, Bryn — whom Frankel shares with ex-husbandJason Hoppy— paid a visit to theTodayshow to support her mom, who was filling in for regular hostJenna Bush Hager. “It’s the first time she’s come to an appearance with me and she was excited,” Frankel told co-hostHoda Kotbat the time.
Kotb, 59, asked Bryn to dish about what it’s like to have Frankel as her parent. “It’s crazy,” Bryn admitted with a giggle.
“Like, all of the stories and everything,” she continued, prompting Frankel to quip, “Adventures every day.”
Bryan also revealed that Frankel is a strict parent. “You reach a point and then you get really mad,” she said to her mom, before sharing that Frankel likes to use the catchphrase, “Shut the program down,” when she’s really reached her limit.

During Bryn’sTodayappearance, Frankel also opened up about entering the world of teen parenting once her daughter turned 13 in May. “It’s amazing,” the reality star said before sharing her advice. “You have to be thoughtful about it. You know, it’s the ocean, it’s moving. You cannot predict the ocean. You cannot predict the tide. You have to swim under the wave. You cannot fight the wave.”
In honor of Bryn’s birthday, Frankel posted a touchingtributeto the teen, reflecting on how nothing is more important to her than being a mom.
“I can’t believe how loving, sweet, silly, natural, grounded and just all-around good she is,” she continued. “She was born a nice girl and she has never strayed. She was blessed with as many gifts as I have flaws, and I am so grateful to go through this beautiful life with her.”
At the time, Frankel also shared photos from a hotel slumber party she threw for Bryn and a group of friends. She explained in the post’s caption that she prefers to give her daughter memories over elaborate gifts.
“I’m bigger on experiences than I am with big gifts for these moments, and she loves it so much and creates memories to last a lifetime,” she wrote of Bryn. “From when she was little, she would choose a special group of girls she really wanted to share and create memories with and I would try to create something small, special and magical — but never over the top.”
