The pair have been together for 15 years and married for 11. When asked on Friday’s episode ofThe Drew Barrymore Showwhat she thinks “keeps [them] speaking about each other in this way that’s so admiring and loving,” Hathaway said, “I think it’s a little bit the luck of the draw, but we’re really just lucky that we keep growing together.”
“But we have this thing — it’s actually a tattoo, and the idea is that individually, we’re whole, but together, we’re more,” added theEileenactress, 41. “And so I think it’s just that thing about I don’t expect him to complete me and he doesn’t expect me to complete him.”
“I’m my own person he’s his own person andwe choose to be togetherbecause we believewe make each other betterand this union is something we both want to participate in,” she explained.

HostDrew Barrymorealso joked about the “conspiracy theory” that actor and jewelry designer Shulman, 42, is actually William Shakespeare reincarnated, given that the late Shakespeare’s wife was also named Anne Hathaway.
“It’s weird, right? It would be great if it’s true, but if not, still kinda great,” Hathaway said.
“Which is an inspiration for my character inEileen,” she added.

Hathaway and Shulman gotengaged in 2011andtied the knot in September 2012in Big Sur, California. They went on to welcome two sons:Jonathan, 7, andJack, who was born in late 2019.
In October, theShe Came to Meactress revealed onLate Night with Seth Meyersthat she spent her 11th anniversary with Shulman indoors, thanks to the heavy rains in New York City at the time.
Despite the wet weather, she said they were still able to make the best of itwith a cozy night inwhile watching a popular ABC show.
She continued, “You know I had a moment when I was curled up on his chest and we were watching hour three ofAbbott Elementaryand I was like, ‘I’m so happy.’ This is the right guy for me."
