Stellan Skarsgård is considered a prima ( not sorry ) player for his roles in undertaking like The Unbearable Lightness of Being , Good Will Hunting , and Chernobyl . But probability are he ’ll be best remembered for his music genre roles , like whoeverhe end up playingin the upcoming Star Wars TV seriesAndor . That does n’t mean he ’s needfully mad about it .
After explaining why the chance of getting to figure out with director Denis Villeneuve on Dune led him to endure eight full hours in the make - up chair to play the grotesque villainBaron Harkonnen , Skarsgård toldthe Daily Beastwhy he join theRogue Oneprequel starring Diego Luna as rebel spy Cassian Andor . It was fundamentally the same grounds : the chance to work with the acclaimed film writer Tony Gilroy , who not only compose the screenplay for Rogue One , but will be executive - farm Andor . It turns out Skarsgård somewhat enjoy that particular Star Wars story , and the rest of the dealership … not so much .
“ When I saw Rogue One , it had much more atmosphere and seemed a piddling more mature — and that was Tony Gilroy , who ’s the showrunner on this one , ” Skarsgård explain . “ So , hopefully this one will be a little more than minuscule moldable people fall over . ”

Damn . equalise the Star Wars movies to children play with action figures is roughshod and … pretty precise , aboveboard . ( Skarsgård could even be talk about The Mandalorian , but I seriously doubt he has a Disney+ subscription . ) Hell , he ’s not even talking about children playing with toys , it ’s just them toppling over , like when you stand action frame on your bookshelf and then incidentally bump into it , to utilise one example that I know all too well . But what I really bang is how he ’s hoping Andor will be “ a little more ” than highly merchandisable CG action scene . The show ’s been film since November of last year , so you ’d think he ’d have it off by now , right ?
Andor action figure will necessarily be sold in 2022 , which is also when the show is set to premier . I indicate investing in some flesh stands if you want to keep them upright .
