Over the past several years , maritime biologists in Tasmania have been receiving telephone call about unusual jellyfish sightings . Now , one of these unclassified animal has ultimately rinse up on shoring — and it ’s a uncanny slimy beast , indeed .
The 5 foot ( 1.5 meter ) long specimen was identify by a crime syndicate collecting shells on a beach in Howden , south of Hobart . After flick a pic of the giant blob , they forwarded it to CSIRO , Australia ’s national scientific discipline agency .
